Bühne Schloss Philippsburg, Braubach (bei Regen findet die Veranstaltung indoor statt)

The continuation of the amusing skirmishes between the pugnacious country priest Don Camillo and the hot-blooded "red" mayor Peppone" also fascinates with its dazzling humour and conciliatory humanity, although the old rivals once again let their fists do the talking in their arguments, as the atmosphere is heated so shortly before the election in the small village in the Italian Bassa. The combative country priest Don Camillo preaches party politics from the pulpit. Peppone, the mayor from the communist party, is fuming with rage and calls for a religious strike, but is given 15,000 Our Fathers as absolution for his sins. Young lovers from opposing camps, misdirected stationery from the Communist Party, a gilded archangel and, of course, the voice of the Lord ensure that the amusing skirmishes of "Don Camillo and Peppone" continue.
The success story of the Lahnstein Castle Theatre at St. John's Church began with this play in 2017. Now the original castle play is back, in Braubach's Philippsburg and with the sequel. As in 2017, Karl Krämer as Peppone and Klaus Krückemeyer as Don Camillo can be seen in the leading roles. The cast is complemented by many leading actors from the Lahnstein castle plays of the last ten years. A top-class cast that promises great theatre!
