The Bingen Christmas market invites visitors to the food market in the city center, which is decorated for Advent.

From Monday to Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., a selection of inviting stalls offer opportunities to feast and linger.
Regional delicacies and lovely little treats are on offer: from warming drinks such as fine punch to savory and sweet delicacies. Handcrafted and unique gift ideas also invite you to browse at your leisure. In addition, a changing booth will serve as a stage for local clubs and organizations again this year: Waffles, cookies, and much more will be sold here for a good cause – it's worth stopping by!

To get in the mood for the Christmas market, Bingen's Advent season will begin on November 24 at the CityCenter: Mulled wine and food will be offered here, and the stalls will be open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. until December 30.

An atmospheric program attracts visitors with a wide range of activities

The Bingen Christmas market is accompanied by an Advent program organized by numerous local participants. Special Christmas city tours for young and old are held with “Weihnachtsmaus Oma Emmi” (Christmas Mouse Grandma Emmi) – there is plenty for children and families to discover on the first three Saturdays of Advent.

Two Klangstrom concerts offer musical highlights: On Friday, December 12, starting at 7 p.m., classical music fans will get their money's worth at Vivaldi im Advent in cooperation with Villa Musica at Villa Sachsen. On Saturday, December 13, the Trio Magos invites you to a magical family concert at the Bingen Cultural Center: “Hex, Hex – Weihnachten ist verhext” (Hex, Hex – Christmas is bewitched) will get you in the mood for the festive season.
In addition, numerous performances by choirs, clubs, and the Bingen Music School will create a festive atmosphere: The Advent concert by the Oberes Mittelrheintal Wind Orchestra (BOOM) on November 29 in St. Martin's Basilica will kick off the season. Singing together will also take center stage: the “Sing & Play Concert” at the Bingen Music School will give everyone the chance to make music together, and the popular “BIN singen weihnachtlich” (BIN sings Christmas) event organized by Bingen Unternehmen Zukunft e.V. (BUZ) invites everyone to join in the merry singing.
The Hildegardis School is also organizing its own Advent concert (December 15), while the Bingen Children's Choir will add another festive touch on December 20. The musical program will be complemented by performances by the Amen Singers, the S(w)inging People Oberdiebach, the Hallel music and singing group, and other artists.

The Bingen Adult Education Center (vhs Bingen) is also enriching the Christmas market program with a variety of offerings: On December 4, Petra Urban invites you to a fairy-tale lecture about Hans Christian Andersen entitled “If Only It Were Christmas.” Things will take a soothing and contemplative turn on December 9 with the course “Happy Holidays – with Nervenkeks and Atempower,” followed by “Christmas Baking – Creativity & Fun” on December 13. The “Advent Yoga with Piano” on December 19 offers an atmospheric conclusion, harmoniously combining relaxation and musical accompaniment. Advance registration is required for all events; a waiting list may be maintained if necessary.

Bingen's retailers are also attracting customers with special Christmas promotions, so it's worth visiting Frollein Wunderbar, for example, for one of their special family promotions.

Christian and spiritual offerings round off the supporting program of the Bingen Christmas market: On November 29 at 7 p.m., the restored historic Christmas crib at St. Martin's Basilica will be ceremoniously opened by Mayor Thomas Feser and Pastor Markus Lerchl. It can be viewed daily from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. until December 30 and is the focus of numerous devotions: Almost every day, evening and peace blessings at the nativity scene invite visitors to enjoy brief moments of contemplation. On December 12, both the “Hour of Power” under the motto “You will rejoice and be glad” and the atmospheric “Mulled wine in the Garden of Creation” offer special highlights. In the last three days before the holiday, several early morning services in St. Martin's Basilica complement the spiritual offerings.

Festive flair throughout the city center

The city center itself will soon be getting into the Christmas spirit: starting at the end of November, Bingen Tourismus & Kongress GmbH will be putting up more than 60 Christmas trees in central squares and streets. Local clubs and businesses are enthusiastically participating in the lovely decorations - an atmospheric preview of the Bingen Christmas market.
