Ludwig Wolker (1887-1955) became General President of the Catholic Young Men's Association and Spiritual Director of the German Youth Organisation (DJK) in 1926.
He fiercely resisted National Socialism and in 1945 was commissioned by the German Bishops' Conference to rebuild the church's youth work.
In 1947, the DJK was re-established under his leadership.
His grave is in the North Cemetery in Düsseldorf.
